On October 28th, the town of Purcellville observes National First Responders Day, a day dedicated to honoring the brave individuals who serve as police officers and firefighters in the community.
The Purcellville Police Department and Fire and Rescue Services play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of the town’s residents. The police department is known for its community-oriented approach, engaging with residents through various programs. The fire and rescue team is equipped with the latest technology and training to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.
In appreciation, the Loudoun First Responders Foundation delivered a delicious tower of treats for our local officers on this special day. The town extends its gratitude to the LFRF for their continuous support of local law enforcement and fire and rescue personnel. The Foundation plays a significant role by providing immediate financial assistance during times of need to active first responders in Loudoun County and offering scholarship opportunities. For more information about this volunteer-led, non-profit organization, please visit their website at https://lfrf.org/ (https://lfrf.org/).
Additionally, this year marks the launch of the first annual “Heroes for the Holidays” Toy Drive, organized by the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) in partnership with the Loudoun Career Firefighters Association Local 3756. Building on a long-standing tradition of collaboration with the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program, this initiative aims to extend support to even more children in Loudoun County during the holiday season.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys are welcomed at any LC-CFRS stations, fire and rescue headquarters at 801 Sycolin Road, and the Training Academy at 16600 Courage Court in Leesburg, from Friday, October 17, 2025, through Sunday, December 7, 2025. Monetary donations can be made via the Loudoun Career Fire Fighters Foundation (LCFFF) website. Donors are encouraged to specify “Heroes for the Holiday” Toy Drive on their contributions, ensuring that all funds collected benefit the Toy Drive and support local non-profits.

Their commitment to protecting and serving our town ensures that Purcellville remains a safe and thriving community for all.
