The recall hearing for Purcellville Vice Mayor Carl “Ben” Nett has been officially scheduled for March 2, 3, and 4, with proceedings beginning each day at 10:00 AM. The hearing will be presided over by Fairfax County Circuit Court Judge Randy L. Bellows. Eric Olsen has been appointed as Special Prosecutor and will represent the Concerned Citizens of Purcellville, the petitioning group pursuing the recall.

The March hearing dates were selected after multiple scheduling conflicts prevented earlier options. February dates were unavailable due to defense attorney Jennifer McGovern’s prior commitments, and Special Prosecutor Olsen was on vacation at the end of January. In addition, the court’s February calendar was limited by federal holidays and the judge’s schedule, making early March the earliest mutually available dates.

Attorney McGovern, representing Vice Mayor Nett, has requested both a Bill of Particulars by December 28 and discovery to gather more information and evidence related to the case. If the parties cannot reach agreement on the scope of discovery, a separate hearing may be scheduled to resolve those disputes.
