Purcellville, VA – Purcellville Main Street (PVMS), a community-led nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing the town’s downtown area, is excited to announce its first committee and membership meeting scheduled for June 27th. This meeting marks a significant step forward in embracing the national Main Street approach to foster economic vitality and promote local businesses.
PVMS is committed to enhancing the character and vibrancy of Purcellville by supporting local businesses and engaging residents. The organization encourages membership from various groups within the community, including:
– Business Membership: Businesses located within town limits that possess an active Purcellville Business License are eligible to join.
– Resident Membership: Open to individuals who reside within town boundaries.
– Associate Membership: Available to those with significant involvement or expertise within the Main Street framework, as determined by the board of directors.
All members will be expected to participate in at least one committee, focusing on areas such as Economic Vitality, Design, Organization, and Promotion. These committees will work on key initiatives like business development, historic preservation, volunteer engagement, and marketing efforts to attract visitors.
Membership in PVMS is voluntary, with requirements to attend at least one meeting per quarter and remain engaged in the community. Members need to continue operating a business within town limits, residing in town, or maintain an approved associate status.
