The Woodgrove High School wrestling team has once again made history, showcasing their incredible talent and determination at the 2025 VHSL (Virginia High School League) Class 4 Wrestling State Championships. With ten athletes earning state placements, the team’s hard work and dedication were on full display as they brought home an impressive array of accolades.

The championship titles were claimed by two standout wrestlers who dominated their weight classes:

– Sawyer Jones (150 lbs) 

– Ibrahim Zaky (215 lbs)

Their exceptional performances not only secured individual titles but also highlighted the strength and skill of the Woodgrove wrestling program.

The team also celebrated several athletes who finished in the runner-up position, further showcasing the depth of talent within the squad:

– Zac Hartley (113 lbs)

– Camden Murray (138 lbs)

– Colten Jones (144 lbs)

These wrestlers demonstrated remarkable tenacity and skill, narrowly missing the championship title but earning respect and recognition for their efforts.

In addition to the champions and runner-ups, Woodgrove boasted two wrestlers who secured third place in their respective weight classes:

– Adam Skinner (120 lbs)

– Luke Benkelman (190 lbs)
