





Purcellville, VA – Woodgrove Wrestling opened the postseason on February 14, 2026, at Heritage High School during the VHSL Class 4 Region C Championships. The team, which previously won the VHSL Wrestling State Championship, aimed for its third consecutive title as two-time defending champions.
Woodgrove finished first in the competition with a total of 260.5 team points, ahead of Loudoun County (240.0 points) and Rock Ridge (164.5 points) in a nine-team field. Throughout the tournament, the team faced tight scoring and fluctuating leads but secured the title in the final matches.
By the end of the tournament, Woodgrove had qualified 10 wrestlers for the VHSL State Championships in Virginia Beach, along with three alternates, totaling 13 athletes.

106 – August Rathmann – 2nd Place
Rathmann advanced to the finals after pinning Cole Motley of Tuscarora in the semifinals before finishing as runner-up to Cameron Hedgespeth of Rock Ridge.
113 – Lucas Larossi – 6th Place
Larossi competed through the consolation bracket and finished sixth in the region, gaining postseason experience in a competitive weight class.
120 – Zac Hartley – 1st Place
Hartley earned a first-place finish with a series of decisive matches, including a 45-second pin over Deep Pudasaini of Heritage, a technical fall over Alex Barnhart of Loudoun County, and a pin of Cameron Nguyen of Rock Ridge in the championship match.
126 – Adam Skinner – 2nd Place
Skinner recorded two quick pins to reach the finals, defeating Ebadurahman Ibrahimi of Broad Run and Aiden Johnson of Tuscarora, before finishing second to Bryce Schnelzer of Loudoun County.
132 – Thomas Goode – 4th Place
Goode secured a state qualification berth by pinning Ethan Shepherd of Loudoun Valley in the consolation semifinals and placed fourth overall after the placement round.
138 – Camden Murray – 1st Place
Murray advanced with a pin over Shou D’Angelo of Heritage and a semifinal pin of Ali Tiab of Tuscarora, then captured the title with a 22–5 technical fall over Easton Rossell of Broad Run.
144 – Jackson Knupp – 1st Place
Knupp qualified for states with a pin over Sahil Rahimzai of Rock Ridge and a technical fall against Sebastian Andino Rojas of Broad Run, before pinning Eli Eastlake of Loudoun County in the finals to win the regional championship.
150 – Kiptyn Carley – 5th Place (Alternate)
Carley placed fifth after earning a major decision over Zayn El-Hamalawy of Dominion in the placement round, securing an alternate position.
157 – Lincoln Krough – 5th Place (Alternate)
Krough opened with a technical fall over Obaidullah Turkmen of Broad Run and later defeated Julian Serna of Rock Ridge 5–4 in the placement match to finish fifth and earn an alternate spot.
165 – Colten Jones – 1st Place
Jones advanced with pins over Aryan Mansouri of Dominion and Ben Whittaker of Heritage before earning a 19–3 technical fall over Rocco Zagorites of Loudoun County in the finals.
175 – Sawyer Jones – 1st Place
Jones posted a dominant tournament, pinning Noah Thomas of Loudoun Valley and Usman Mojadidi of Dominion before pinning Jack Ahlberg of Broad Run in the championship match without surrendering a point during the event.
190 – Ibrahim Zaky – 1st Place
Zaky advanced through the bracket with decisive victories, including a semifinal pin over Kellen Hoyecki of Broad Run and a 43-second pin of Mason Kirby of Loudoun Valley in the finals.
215 – Campbell Frook – 1st Place
Frook reached the finals with a semifinal pin over Saad Ali of Dominion and secured the regional title with a 4–2 decision over Salem Awad of Loudoun County.
285 – Chase Siek – 5th Place (Alternate)
Siek advanced to the semifinals with a pin over Quinn Prusha of Loudoun Valley and finished fifth after defeating Mohammed Umar of Dominion 8–2 in the placement match.
The Wolverines will next compete at the VHSL State Championships on February 20–21, 2026, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center, located at 1045 19th Street in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where their 10 qualifiers and three alternates will represent the program as postseason competition continues.
