Purcellville is set to host a captivating blend of art and culture at this year’s Food & Wine Festival on July 19th, where local artist Patricia Maria Taylor Holz, known for her creative endeavors under PTH Visual Arts, will debut an extraordinary piece titled “Drunk Moth: A Selfie Wings Installation.” This innovative artwork, crafted from naturally stained wine corks sourced from local Loudoun wineries—including 868 Estate Vineyards, The Barns at Hamilton Station, Firefly Cellars, Stone Tower Winery, Otium Cellars, Williams Gap Vineyard, 8 Chains North Winery, Two Twisted Posts Winery, and many more—offers festival-goers a unique opportunity to engage with art in an interactive way.

Inspired by the Cecropia moth—the largest moth in North America known for its striking burgundy coloration—the “Drunk Moth” installation invites attendees to step into the wings of this majestic insect and capture memorable selfies. The use of wine corks not only reflects the festival’s celebration of wine but also showcases the artist’s commitment to sustainable art practices by repurposing materials in creative ways.

Festival attendees can look forward to experiencing this one-of-a-kind installation while enjoying the diverse offerings of the Purcellville Food & Wine Festival. The event promises a delightful array of local wines, gourmet food, and live entertainment, making it an unmissable summer highlight.
