Purcellville, VA — Following an investigation by the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Fairfax Field Office, a grand jury has charged Purcellville Vice Mayor Carl “Ben” Nett with six felony counts. These charges include four counts involving violations related to the Virginia Criminal Information Network and two counts related to bid rigging and conspiracy.

In addition, the grand jury has also charged Purcellville Town Manager Kwasi Fraser with two felony counts, both related to bid rigging and conspiracy.

The warrants for their arrests were executed as per the directive of Loudoun Circuit Court Judge James P. Fisher. Both Mr. Nett and Mr. Fraser were taken into custody and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg.

The investigation was authorized by the Office of the Attorney General, with Commonwealth Attorney Bob Anderson informing Purcellville Town Council members on April 22 about the criminal investigation being conducted by the Virginia State Police.
