Purcellville Main Street will host its Thrift & Sip event on North 21st Street this Saturday, continuing a series of community events the nonprofit organizes throughout the year to bring residents and visitors into downtown Purcellville.
The event will run from 1 to 6 p.m. on May 9, the day before Mother’s Day. Vendor space sold out well in advance of the event, and the event will feature 30 vendors offering a variety of vintage and antique finds, local food, and tastings from regional wineries.
Organizers said the event is also intended to support Loudoun County wineries that continue to recover from a late-season freeze that impacted vineyards across the region earlier this year.
Thrift & Sip is part of Purcellville Main Street’s broader 2026 programming calendar. Additional events planned this year include the End of Summer Block Party on Aug. 22 and the Holiday Market on Dec. 5. The organization’s events typically transform portions of downtown into pedestrian-friendly gathering spaces featuring local businesses, vendors, live entertainment, and food.
In addition to event programming, Purcellville Main Street continues to expand several community improvement and revitalization initiatives aimed at supporting downtown beautification and long-term investment in the historic corridor.
The nonprofit is currently seeking donations to help fund several ongoing incentive and improvement campaigns, including:
• Support Main Street Events, which helps fund community festivals and seasonal downtown events throughout the year.
• Beautify 21st Street, focused on signage, building facades, flowers, and streetscape enhancements in the downtown corridor.
• Light Up Purcellville, which supports decorative and seasonal lighting installations along 21st Street and surrounding downtown areas.
Purcellville Main Street said donations directly support projects intended to strengthen downtown vitality, encourage tourism, and support local businesses.
The organization is also recruiting volunteers to assist during Saturday’s event in one-to two-hour shifts. Volunteer sign-ups are available through SignUpGenius.
Purcellville Main Street is a local nonprofit organization focused on the revitalization, preservation, and continued use of historic downtown Purcellville through community programming, business support, and public improvement projects.
