PURCELLVILLE, Va. — Catoctin Creek Distilling Company has announced a refresh of its downtown tasting room, including extended hours, an expanded cocktail and mocktail program and additional guest hospitality offerings, with a grand re-opening celebration set for July 1.

The distillery, located at 120 W. Main St., shared the plans in a May 15 announcement. The changes are intended to move the tasting room beyond its traditional role as a sampling counter and toward a fuller guest experience, the company said.

The announcement follows recognition earlier this spring, when Craft Spirits magazine named the distillery one of its top tasting rooms of 2026. The tasting room occupies a building constructed in 1921 that served as Purcellville’s first Buick dealership and operated as a car sales business for 51 years. The company has incorporated that history into the space.

Catoctin Creek was the first legal distillery in Virginia since Prohibition. It produces rye whisky, brandy and gin, and is known nationally for its 100 percent rye whisky. Co-founder and head distiller Becky Harris, a chemical engineer by training, has been distilling in Purcellville since 2010. The distillery was founded by Becky and Scott Harris.

Additional details about the expanded hours and the July 1 grand re-opening celebration are available through the distillery. Catoctin Creek can be reached at 540-751-8404, and more information is posted at catoctincreekdistilling.com
