The decision to make Patrick Henry College their Home Court reflects the team’s commitment to engaging with the local community and fostering a love for the sport. With its modern facilities and welcoming environment, the college provides an ideal setting for the Vipers to host their games and connect with fans.

“We are thrilled to partner with Patrick Henry College for this season,” said Vipers spokesperson and Team Market Owner, Tina Culbreath. “This collaboration will not only enhance the basketball experience for our players but also strengthen our ties to the community. We look forward to bringing high-quality basketball to the fans and creating lasting memories together.”

Town Council Woman Erin Rayner expressed her enthusiasm for the Vipers’ arrival, emphasizing the importance of adding another family-friendly activity to the town.

“It is a great economic opportunity to partner with local businesses, and I love your mission and how active you will be in the community. I know the business community is very excited to have you here,” she said. “We have already talked about doing a family night where we host the Vipers and local families and leagues come in, and we’ll do some games and just really make it a family team. I just can’t thank you enough for choosing Purcellville.”

Ethan Patrick, the athletic director at Patrick Henry College, shared this enthusiasm, noting that both the school’s administration and students are excited to welcome the Vipers.

“We are excited they have found our little school and appreciate the beauty that God’s given us as far as a school and the facilities that we have. We wish them a great season,” he said.

The announcement has also been met with enthusiasm from local high school basketball coaches. Woodgrove boys varsity coach Konstantine Papastergiou highlighted the positive impact the Vipers will have on the community and youth basketball.

“This is excellent news for the community and youth basketball in Purcellville as a whole,” he said. “This community is rapidly growing, and basketball is becoming the face of our community with both local high schools having had such recent success. This is just yet another opportunity to help grow the game, but also pour into the community and our youth, which deserve to have something to be proud of and look up to. It’s amazing to see that it will now be on a professional level, and I look forward to working with the Vipers moving forward in my time as head boys basketball coach at Woodgrove.”

As the season approaches, the Virginia Valley Vipers encourage fans to mark their calendars and prepare for the action-packed weekend of March 1 and 2. Fans are invited to “Paint the Town Purple” the weekend of March 1st & 2nd by wearing purple throughout the community to show your support for the home opener.
