PURCELLVILLE, VA — As warmer days return to western Loudoun County, Purcellville’s community calendar is filling up fast. From a brand-new farmers market season to a free music festival in the park to a growing lineup of downtown street events, there’s no shortage of reasons to get outside and connect with neighbors this spring and beyond. Here’s what’s coming up.

Farmers Market Returns May 9

The Purcellville Farmers Market is back for the 2026 season, kicking off on Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. This year the market has moved to a new location — the town lot on the corner of Hatcher and Main — making it more centrally accessible for residents and visitors alike. The market runs every Saturday through October, making it a weekly morning staple for the next several months.

Shoppers can expect farm-fresh produce, artisanal goods, handcrafted cheeses, baked goods, and more. Admission is free, and shoppers pay directly to individual vendors. Reusable bags are encouraged. For the most up-to-date information, visit www.purcellvillefarmers.com

Music and Arts Festival: April 25 at Fireman’s Field

One week before the market opens, the town hosts one of its most beloved annual events. The Purcellville Music and Arts Festival takes place on Saturday, April 25, from noon to 7 p.m. at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue — rain or shine.
The free, family-friendly event features live music and performances across multiple stages, an art show, artisan and food vendors, and activities for all ages. The festival is jointly hosted by the Town of Purcellville, the Purcellville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and the Purcellville Arts Council. Sponsors this year include Renewal by Andersen, Bank of Clarke Foundation, Longhouse Architects, Valley Energy, and OHM Productions, among others.

Purcellville Main Street Builds on Momentum

Purcellville Main Street, the nonprofit working to revitalize the historic downtown corridor, is riding significant momentum into 2026. The organization has now hosted three events since its founding, each drawing larger crowds than the last and delivering measurable economic impact to shops along 21st Street.

This spring, the group held its inaugural Shamrock Festival on March 14, drawing crowds to 21st Street for an afternoon of Irish-inspired entertainment. Performers included The Darby Brothers, Felix Pickles, and Irish dance students from the Misneach Irish Dance Academy and Celtic Rhythm School of Dance. Local food and beverage vendors, including Magnolias at the Mill, Bia’s Kitchen, and American Legion Post 293, kept attendees well fed throughout the day.
Looking ahead to summer, the organization is expected to return with its popular End of Summer Block Party on 21st Street. Last year’s event set the bar high, drawing over 1,000 visitors and delivering what organizers called the biggest sales day, a 300% markup for Blue Design Co. over a typical day in business, and high-sales figures for Nichols Hardware and Hardware Café. The block party format features live music, food and beverage vendors, kids’ games and activities, a Junior Baking Challenge, and a movie night.

Later in the year, the Holiday Market returns on Saturday, December 5, from 1 to 6 p.m. featuring local artists and crafters. More information about Purcellville Main Street’s events and membership can be found at purcellvillemainstreet.org.
